Bikebox
Your bike – safe, sound and securely stored
Transfer made easy – with secure parking for your ride: At some train stations and transport hubs, südtirolmobil now offers cheap, lockable bicycle storage. You only need two things: a post-paid Südtirol Pass and the südtirolmobil app on your smartphone (update 3.73.2).
Choose between individual Bikeboxes and a space in a bike depot for anything between one day to a month or a full year and reserve your spot using the südtirolmobil app. südtirolmobil Bikeboxes are currently available at:
- Brixen/Bressanone train station (individual boxes and bike depot)
- Bruneck/Brunico train station (individual boxes and bike depot)
- Gargazon/Gargazzone train station (bike depot)
- Lana-Burgstall/Lana-Postal train station (bike depot)
- Leifers/Laives train station (individual boxes)
- Naturns/Naturno train station (bike depot)
Individual Bikeboxes: lockable, secure spaces in which only one bicycle can be stored. The door of individual Bikeboxes is 115 cm high and 73 cm wide. All boxes are 194 cm deep. Bikes stored in top boxes must not weigh more than 25 kg.
Bike depots: locked, covered (in some cases two-storey) parking spaces for several bicycles. Depending on the location, südtirolmobil bike depots offer between 50 and 180 parking spaces for bicycles.
Each individual Bikebox and every bike depot is equipped with a secure locking mechanism. A QR code must be scanned to open the lock, and only authorised users who have booked a parking space have access.
Here’s how to do it
südtirolmobil Bikeboxes can be used with the following tickets: Südtirol Pass, Euregio Family Pass and (if the optional function to pay for additional services is activated) Südtirol Pass abo+ or Südtirol Pass 65+ subscriptions.
The only prerequisite is that you have a post-paid contract using SEPA Direct Debit. Südtirol Pass holders with a pre-paid contract can change their payment preferences any time in their user account with just a few clicks.
Südtirol Pass and Euregio Family Pass: There is no need to activate additional services.
südtirolmobil Bikeboxes can be booked for a day, a month or a full year. All bookings are subject to the rates outlined in the Provincial Government’s Resolution No. 365 of 4 May 2023 (as amended from time to time) and are charged at the beginning of the booking period.
Bikeboxes can only be booked using the südtirolmobil app. To access mobile ticketing, click on the lilac icon in the top right-hand corner and then on “Subscription” in the bottom left-hand corner. Select a Bikebox and the period you’d like to book it for. Click on “Buy” to complete the booking process.
If no spaces are available for the selected Bikebox or period, the booking will not be completed.
Booked Bikeboxes can only be opened using the südtirolmobil app once the booked period has started. Go to “Open Bikebox” to scan the QR code, which can be found on the door of the Bikebox or on the display at the entrance to the bike depot. Once you’ve successfully scanned the QR code, the locking mechanism will unlock and the door can be opened.
