Flying Piano: travelling to the sound of music on the Ritten/Renon cable car

Culture meets mobility

On Friday 23 August 2024, one of the ten cabins of the Ritten/Renon cable car was transformed into a "suspended stage" for the musical performance Flying Piano by the Milanese pianist Filippo Gorini.

From 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., the classical symphonies of Beethoven, Schubert and Bach-Busoni delighted travellers in an intimate and atmospheric setting on the 12-minute journey between the valley and mountain stations of the Ritten/Renon cable car.

The event, jointly supported and promoted by südtirolmobil and the Busoni - Mahler Foundation, is part of the “Bolzano Festival Bozen 2024” concert series.

Dedicated this year to the 100th anniversary of the death of the great pianist Ferruccio Busoni, the festival opened on 30 July and will run until 10 September. The programme offers a varied series of concerts with more than a hundred musicians spread over alternative stages and iconic locations in the town of Bolzano.
