New timetables and more bus and train services

Improved services from Sunday 15 December

On Sunday, 15th December 2024 major changes will be made to the public transport system. Below you will find the most important news and changes to the train and bus timetables in South Tyrol. The pocket-sized booklets with the new timetables 2025 will be made available and distributed starting from mid-January.

Area–specific train lines

Vinschgau/Val Venosta 

Pusteria/Pustertal 

  • Partial closure of the train line from December 2024. A replacement B400 bus service will be available throughout the rail service disruption. More details: New Pustertal/val Pusteria railway line;
  • Bruneck/Brunico-Innichen/San Candido-Sillian Variation of departure times by 15 minutes ahead of the 2024 timetable;
  • Bruneck/Brunico-Innichen/San Candido The route is reinforced with a service running every 30 minutes.

Eisacktal/Valle Isarco – Wipptal/Alta Valle Isarco

  • Bozen/Bolzano-Brenner/Brennero: 2 additional connections from Bozen/Bolzano (6:32 and 11:32) and 2 additional connections from Brenner/Brennero (8:08 and 9:08) on weekends and public holidays.

Urban and regional bus lines

Meran/Merano and surroundings, Vinschgau/Val Venosta

  • Schnalstal/Val Senales-Naturn/Naturno-Meran/Merano (261): extension of the route to Meran/Merano;
  • Naturn/Naturno: introduction of the new Citybus service;
  • Ulten/Ultimo-Lana-Meran/Merano (245): the route is reinforced with a service running every 30 minutes on weekdays (Monday–Friday).

Eisacktal/Valle Isarco – Wipptal/Alta Valle Isarco (Pustertal/val Pusteria)

  • Mühlbach/Rio di Pusteria-Franzensfeste/Fortezza-Sterzing/Vipiteno (411): direct connection;
  • Brixen/Bressanone-Sterzing/Vipiteno (310): additional afternoon and evening services;
  • St. Leonhard/San Leonardo-Jaufenpass/Passo Giovo-Sterzing/Vipiteno (317): direct bus service during summer (from 14.06.2025 to 12.10.2025);
  • Anterselva/Antholz-Olang/Valdaora-Bruneck/Brunico (431): the whole line is reinforced with a service every 30 minutes
  • Road bridge over Riggertal/Val di Riga (state road SS 49bis): from Saturday 14 December, the bridge will be closed to heavy traffic, with diversion of bus lines 310, 411 and the B400 replacement bus service.
