This year, the electrification of the Vinschgau/Val Venosta railway line will enter a decisive phase. The old signalling system will be gradually dismantled. At the same time, the new overhead lines and the European Train Control System (ETCS), which have been extensively tested and approved, will be installed on existing and new trains. All this will require the line to be partially closed between Laas/Lasa and Mals/Malles and then completely closed between Meran/Merano and Mals/Malles.

- From Sunday 16 February to Saturday 25 October the Vinschgau/Val Venosta railway line will be closed on the Laas/Lasa-Mals/Malles section.
- On the Meran/Merano-Laas/Lasa section, a modified timetable (half-hourly service) will be applied.

Bus services 271 and 272: changes from 16 February 2025
Due to the interruption of the train service between Laas/Lasa and Mals/Malles, the timetables of some bus services in Obervinschgau/Alta Val Venosta have also been adjusted. From Sunday 16 February bus services 271 and 272 will both run every hour and will serve all the stops along the route.
- Service 271 Sulden/Solda – Trafoi – Stilfs/Stelvio – Spondinig/Spondigna will be extended to Laas/Lasa railway station.
- Service 272 Mals/Malles – Glurns/Glorenza – Prad/Prato – Spondinig/Spondigna will also be extended to Laas/Lasa station. Contrary to the B250 replacement bus services (Mals/Malles – Schluderns/Sluderno – Spondinig/Spondigna – Eyrs/Oris – Laas/Lasa), the buses of line 272 take longer because they do not go through Schluderns/Sluderno, but through Glurns/Glorenza and Prad/Prato, serving all the stops. The stop at Schluderns/Sluderno (Station) is not served.
Closure between Meran/Merano and Mals/Malles from October 2025
The second interruption will affect the entire railway line (Meran/Merano-Mals/Malles) and will start on Sunday 26 October 2025. This is expected to last until the end of March 2026, with the Laas/Lasa-Mals/Malles line operating only in the mornings and evenings for a further two months.
All the information on the replacement services during the total closure from October 2025 will be constantly updated and can be found on our app or website.
